Hey, that sounds great! I'll put it on my calendar, too! Trying to talk my DH into taking Raquy's workshop in St Louis with me in November (details still to be worked out!) so maybe there'll be two more drummers and a dancer and my kidlets, too!

    Blessings!

OOh, that's a tough date, but I'll see what I can free up, and do my best to get there.
    Can you e-me a reminder?

    Love ya/

I'll do my best to remember to send out reminders closer to the date.

That sounds great Inanna. Your house rocks for Haflas. I had such a great time and Dec is when things start to slow down for me. I'll need directions again but you can wait to send them out when it's closer to the date or I'm liable to lose them. You looked great Sat at Sihams. Meant to tell you then but got sidetracked with all the dancing.

Just a reminder that we'll be hosting a holiday hafla at Salaam Dance Studio Saturday evening, Dec. 16, from 6:30 to ?

The studio is located at 303 NE 58th St.; Gladstone, MO 64118. Our phone is (816) 455-6655. Off-street parking in front and in back of the building.

    Light refreshments.

One thing I thought would be fun ... got the idea when I was in San Francisco last weekend ... There was a group sponsoring a "Dance the Nutcracker" event with a live orchestra ... they passed out tutus and wands and everyone got to dance ... looked like loads of fun ... Our music will be taped ... We'll pass out veils rather than tutus and wands ... and anyone who wants to will get to dance the "Coffee" dance (aka the Arabian dance) from the Nutcracker.

    See you all Saturday!

I'm relatively new to the KC dance scene (I've been dancing for about a year), but I'll certainly be there!! Maybe bring cookies if time permits? Can't wait to meet y'all :)

Oooh! I had another inspiration when I looked at the weather report this morning and realized how warm it's going to be today and tonight. I'm going to move my big fire bowl over from my patio to the parking lot out back of the studio, so we can drum and dance around a fire, too, if we like. So if you plan to dance outside, wear a more ethnic-style costume or bring a warmer coverup.

    That was fun!

I went in to warm my hands and found a line of people coming in when I went back out and few wandered back out to chat--and none to dance--and that was OK. I enjoyed the conversation around the fire.

It got too crowded, hot, and loud for Nene inside, and we left when she got too cold outside. We had fun and thank you for hosting!
