There's some dancing going on at the Fringe Fest that y'all might want to watch. The Etre Art show is a modern dance show--no bellydance--though it does offer up one interesting fusion tune. The underlying rhythm is Chiftatelli, and it has background keyboard and violin and bass trading lead over it. Again, it's ME flavored fusion and not strict ME music and the dancers aren't bellydancing. Still, if you want a solid chifti beat to dance to, you can find it here, if only for one song.
The rest of the show is fun, too--and I get to play some funk darbuka!
The neat thing about the Etre Art show is that it's outside the building. The paid seating is up close and personal--and the sidewalk standing room is completely free! Seven dancers, a six-piece band, and a mime--that's good eatin' any way you look at it--for free.
412A Delaware, on the north side of the building. Friday night at 11 pm, Saturday at 6:30 pm.
There are some burlesque dancers performing inside the building, too, though I don't know when they perform. I've been told that's a good show. Vesuvius and Better Than Nothing are also good shows!
This has been a public service announcement.
